The Brief

House Renovation, Westbury-on-Trym

The owners of this family home in Westbury-on-Trym came to us looking to reconfigure and modernise their property to better suit the needs of contemporary family living. Their priorities included creating a more open and connected ground floor layout centred around the kitchen, dining and living spaces, improving natural light throughout the rear of the home, and making better use of the existing garage space. They also wanted to upgrade key areas of the property, enhance its overall functionality and energy efficiency, and introduce a more cohesive interior design while retaining the character and charm of the original home.

The Transformation

The renovation centred around opening up and modernising the ground floor to create a brighter and more connected family living space. Structural alterations allowed for a new open-plan kitchen, dining and snug layout, complemented by enlarged glazing, rooflights and new external openings to maximise natural light and improve the connection to the garden.

Part of the existing garage was converted into a utility and study space, while bespoke cabinetry, integrated storage and new flooring helped unify the design throughout the home. Upstairs, both ensuites were fully renovated alongside upgrades to the heating, electrics and insulation, resulting in a carefully considered renovation that balances contemporary living with the character of the original property.
