General

What is special about Nest Design & Build?

No matter your budget, our team will design and create an amazing space which enhances the way you live. Improving lifestyles is key to our ethos and percolates through all elements of what we do. No matter how awkward the space or limited it may appear, our experience and expertise across the whole spectrum of design, manufacturing and build allows us to maximise the end result whatever the budget.

What do you mean by ‘Bespoke’?

The word has different meanings for different companies, with most so-called bespoke companies using standard sizes and carcasses in the kitchens, for example. To us, “bespoke” means; hand-made to a design that is unique to you and not restricted to standard sizes. The results of a truly bespoke service are that; space is used much more efficiently, and absolutely anything is possible.

What sort of quality can I expect from Nest Design & Build?

There are too many companies out there who use the word “quality” to wrongly describe what they are delivering. No matter what your budget is we will provide the best materials, finish and service to support our complete design and fulfilment service based on your budget.

What do you specialise in?

We offer a complete service which is unique in the market and are able to complete the smallest kitchen to the full design, planning and construction of a new home. We work with you to find the perfect layout, from the ideal placement of your appliances or rain head shower, how best to show off your quirky collection of ceramics or clever ways to integrate storage and technology including intelligent lighting and entertainment solutions.

Are there jobs that are too small?

Budgets for kitchen renovations typically start around £40k including VAT for the supply & installation of the kitchen & supporting works.

How long have you been trading?

We’ve been trading as Colston Southwest Ltd and then as Nest Design & Build since 2005.

Where are you based?

Our Design Studio, showroom & offices are based just off the M5/M4 interchange. We have a great space where you can come and spend time reviewing a selection of our kitchen products & other finishings whilst discussing & honing your project scope, designs & budget.

Do you do plumbing, electrics and all building works?

We have all the trades and associated specialist contractors so there is never a requirement for you to source your own trades people.

Can you supply my kitchen appliances and bathroom fittings?

Yes. You can tell us exactly what your requirements are and we can provide you with competitive quotes from our key supply chain.

Are you VAT registered?

Yes we are. Our VAT number is 105853130 and our company number is 7362238.

What guarantees do I get?

Every project comes with a 12 month guarantee on our workmanship in addition to various product guarantees which are manufacturer specific.

Do you provide any aftercare service?

After signing off your project we will remain on hand if you have any questions or return to your project should you be unhappy with any element of the final finish.

Are you able to put us in contact with previous clients to validate your service & products?

Yes of course. In addition to the reviews, you will find on a range of social media we have a number of customers who would be happy to engage with you prior to us starting a project

What experince do you have?

With 25 years of experience in residential commissions, our portfolio demonstrates the diverse range of inspirational spaces that we’ve helped create. Together we bring uniqueness to your project, balancing function and creativity.

How does it work?

Often starting with mood boards, we establish a sense of the lifestyles you lead (or want to lead). Spending time talking and listening allows us to understand how you move around and use the space you have. We then combine these ideas with the everyday practicalities of children, pets, work and play to come up with inspirational spaces that will challenge and excite.

What services do you offer?

We offer a complete design and build service, from pre-planning and planning advice and submissions, including listed consent, through to the development of a full project plan and product specification. From here we will complete the necessary structural calculations and drawings before fully project managing the build, taking care of all the details, whilst always being completely transparent about the costings.

What value will I recieve?

Our ethos is to always give you good value for money, balancing what you would like to achieve, with the practicalities and associated costs of each option. With the completion of 80 projects per year we have a strong sense of specification costs and will always work to achieve a balance between design aspiration and your budget.

Interiors

What products do you use?

Unlike many retailers and manufacturers, we are not tied to one supplier or style and source our cabinetry from a variety of manufacturers across the United Kingdom and Europe in addition to a facility based in the Cotswolds, which is operated in partnership with a bespoke furniture maker. This structure allows us to negotiate the best prices on each individual element of a single kitchen depending on the design style chosen, which includes modern, traditional, in-frame, handle less, painted, retro and contemporary.

What is the process of installation?

Once your project starts, our fitting team will take care of all elements of the build, including plumbing, electrics, boiler installation or repositioning, underfloor heating, plastering, tiling walls and floors, joinery and of course the cabinet and worktop manufacture, appliance supply and complete installation service. If there are structural elements to your design, we will work with our structural surveyor to ensure all the work is completed to exacting standards.

How is the design handled?

Good design isn’t just about how something looks. Functionality is a key starting point for us, making sure that the finished design works in harmony with how you live and spend time in the space. We take time to consider the space as a whole and make sure we have considered how to maximise light during different parts of the day, a considered space for entertaining in addition to capturing views and designing openings to the outside which enhance your lifestyle and enjoyment of your living space.
