  • Who are Nest Design & Build?

    Father and son team Wayne and Marc first met Chris twenty years ago when he commissioned them to convert an apartment in a Victorian house. The project was complicated due to the history of the original house and the poor conversion that was done originally, but the trio immediately hit it off, overcoming each challenge with a positive mindset and creating a project of real standing. Since that point the three of them joined forces and have completed over five hundred commissions since then. Mark came on board as Creative Director in 2014 having spent eight years designing and fitting bespoke kitchens and interiors for some of the most prestigious homes across the North West. The reputation of the business has grown ever since, both through its links with leading high street brands and customer recommendations. Nest’s aim is to appeal to home owners keen to turn their living areas into inspiring spaces, improving the way they live and socialise. The brand aims to convey the passion behind the craftsmanship and to inspire this passion in our clients. The team strive to provide a high quality, personal service for customers who want a crafted product, whether it be a kitchen, bathroom or complete home and to enhance the way they live and use the spaces in their home. We are supported by a team of over 30 who help fulfil all elements of the commissions we engage in.

  • What is special about Nest Design & Build?

  • What do you mean by “bespoke”?

    The word has different meanings for different companies with most so-called bespoke companies using standard sizes and carcasses in the kitchens for example. To us “bespoke” means; hand-made to a design that is unique to you and not being restricted to standard sizes. The results of a truly bespoke service are that; space is used much more efficiently, and absolutely anything is possible.

  • What sort of quality can I expect from Nest Design & Build?

    There are too many companies out there who use the word “quality” to wrongly describe what they are delivering. No matter what your budget is we will provide the best materials, finish and service to support our complete design and fulfilment service based on your budget.

  • What do you specialise in?

    We offer a complete service which is unique in the market and are able to complete the smallest kitchen or bathroom to the full design, planning and construction of a new home. We work with you to find the perfect layout, from the ideal placement of your appliances or rain head shower, how best to show off your quirky collection of ceramics or clever ways to integrate storage and technology including intelligent lighting and entertainment solutions.

  • Are there jobs that are too small?

    Sometimes there are those small jobs that just need doing to finish off your home, make things easier, complete something you meant to complete last year, and that’s fine with us.

  • Will you remove all waste after an install or build and what happens to it?

    We will remove all waste from any install or build we complete. This is completed free of charge for small projects but for larger commissions there is likely to be a charge for this which we will price before any works begin. The waste is sorted & graded for recycling wherever possible.

  • How long have you been trading?

    We’ve been trading as Colston Southwest Ltd and then as Nest Design & Build since 2005.

  • Where are you based?

    Our Design Studio is based in the centre of Bristol minutes from Temple Meads Train Station & the centre of the City. Converted by us in 2018 from part of an old industrial building we have a great space where you can come and spend time reviewing a selection of our kitchen products & other finishings whilst discussing & honing your project scope, designs & budget. 

  • Do you work across the U.K. and Europe?

    We have completed projects across the UK but predominantly work in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, South East and London. We have also recently taken our first commission in the French Alps.

  • Do you do plumbing, electrics and all building works?

    We have all the trades and associated specialist contractors so there is never a requirement for you to source your own trades people. 

  • Can you supply my kitchen appliances & bathroom fittings?

    Yes. You can tell us exactly what your requirements are and we can provide you with competitive quotes from our key supply chain.

  • Are you VAT registered?

    Yes we are. Our VAT number is 105853130 and our company number is 7362238.

  • Do I have to send you any drawings or dimensions?

    If there is a Structural Build element required on your project we will come to your house, talk about ideas, budgets and if appropriate at that point, measure up, then we will either return to review the project scope and initial Floorplan designs in your home, or invite you to our Design Studio. 

    If your considering a new kitchen within its existing space then we send our our guide to measuring up, before inviting you down to our Design Studio to view all our product ranges. Once we have a clear idea on your preferences and budgets we will design your kitchen and present the finished project to you during a second visit. 

    For bathrooms we will come out to your home to complete a survey as these spaces are often the trickiest spaces to design without being clear from the start where specific plumbing runs are located. 

    If you already have plans produced from an architect or designer we are happy to review these with you and design the specific elements of the project we will be involved in.

  • How does the process work for kitchen and bathroom design and is it free?

    From our first meeting to providing you with a design & fully costed quote takes on average about 2 weeks. From this point once you are happy to engage with Nest there is typically a 2-3 month lead time for a project to start depending on it’s complexity and scale.

    In the period before a project starts we will work with you to resolve all elements of the the design so that once the project starts we have a completed project pack. During this time we will also be ordering various items required to make sure your project runs to the agree time lines.

  • How long will it take to complete a kitchen or bathroom commission?

    We usually expect it to take around 8-10 weeks from confirmed order to when we complete the installation.  The installation itself will typically take 2 weeks but if templating & customising of worktops is required, this can add an additional 10 days. Typical lead times to start a job are around 2 months but we will flex our resource to accommodate more immediate project starts where possible. During the project if you continue living on site we would be happy to organise a temporary kitchen or bathroom if required so you are still able to go about your day to day lives.

  • What guarantees do I get?

    Every commission comes with a two-year warranty on fit and finish with certain projects having additional warranties depending on their scale, complexity and products used.

  • Do you provide any after care service?

    You will receive a handover pack containing all the relevant warranties for your appliances. After signing off your project we will remain on hand if you have any questions or return to your commission should you be unhappy with any element of the final finish.

  • Are you able to put us in contact with previous customers to validate your service and product?
